An Orientation on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management/Calamity Operation and Project Engagement was handed over by the National Housing Authority of Caraga Region to selected beneficiaries of Bagong Silang Slum Upgrading Project, on December 13, 2021 at R.M. Billanes Gymnasium.
The program aims to educate the community leaders and members on disaster preparedness and management in order to actively response during calamity.
In order to perform disaster operation, the NHA provided basic emergency kits, first aid kits, individual kits, advocacy t-shirt, and training kits, to be fully ready to act upon on emergency cases which will cause damage to properties and loss of lives.
In the other hand, the NHA also provided seedlings and planting tools in order to uplift the quality of the living environment through active planting, proper maintenance and preservation of trees and other vegetation within the homeowners’ community.
The beneficiaries were instructed to capture pictures during the homeowner’s tree planting activity as part of the agency’s documentation.
