The Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Brgy Pulanglupa launched the Tech4ED (Technology for Economic Development) Center which aims to harness ICT to empower the netizens on basic digital literacy towards economic development on March 12, 2018 in front of the Barangay Hall of Pulanglupa.

Mr. Kayo Roi Diel, Executive Assistant of the Office of the Municipal Mayor, was thankful for the opportunity given by the DICT for providing three units of computer, one router, and one CCTV camera. He advised the students who were generally the attendees of the launching ceremony to carefully utilize the computers and spend time of studying and availing the services offered by the center. He added that taking Information Technology course is much better today due to adaptation of modern technology.

Engr Lawrence Salang, Team Head of DICT Agusan del Sur, cited the different programs that the DICT can offer. He mentioned that the LGU Trento already availed the Juan Konek, a free internet connection to be installed to seven conspicuous sites in the municipality; Tech4ED Center that located at the 2nd floor of the Municipal Hall; and electronic Business Permits and Licensing System where all transactions concerning business permits and licensing are online.

Mr. Jess Batoon, MC2 Tech4ED Focal Person, discussed the benefits and opportunities brought by the center in changing the life of an individual. He also discussed the additional programs of the Tech4ED such as the Digital Learn, Global Community Foundation, Women ICT Frontier Initiative (WIFI), DigiBayanihan, TypePhil and the Tehc4ED Center Monitoring Sytem.

Hon. Michael V. Sajonia, Sr., Punong Barangay of Pulanglupa, extended his warmest gratitude for selecting his barangay for the said project. He said that through this program, the barangay can now avail the services of the government, learn different lesson in using the computer and can help the Out-of-School Youth in studying lessons.
