The Local Government Unit of Trento in collaboration with the Trento Municipal Tourism Council held successfully the 21st Santikan Festival successfully on September 25-30, 2016 with a theme, “ Kahiusahan ug Pinagtinabangay Ipadayon Kulturang Trentohanon Palambuon”.
The celebration featured a Thanksgiving Mass, an Opening Parade with the government agencies, students, private organizations, and the stakeholders together with the Drum and Bugle Corps of the different schools. The opening of the Agri-Industrial Fair in the afternoon on the first day commenced the exhibit of different booths of different barangays displaying their own agricultural products.
The Mayor’s Cup Basketball League entertained the Trentohanons during the whole festival month.
Rave and Foam Party capped the first night where Trentohanons enjoyed dancing with their favorite music.
Another remarkable activity during the celebration that uplifted the Trentohanons in terms of livelihood was the Job Fair. Private companies and business sectors hired Trentohanons who applied and submitted their pertinent papers during the conduct of the one-day affair.
On the following day, the Barangay councils enjoyed the Barangayan which was followed by a band performance of the Playlist.
Talents of the Trentohanons were then showcased in Garbo sa Trento Year 4 when 15 finalists staged their astounding talents.
On the 29th, the audience jam-packed the Park Event Area when the Rocksteddy rocked the 21st Santikan Festival celebration.
Lastly, government employees and private institutions were given time to enjoy in the celebration in “One Community Night” where they competed in the different contests: hip hop, ethnic and trio.
