The Local Government Unit of Trento celebrated Arbor Day 2016 in collaboration with the DENR Regional Office, PENRO, CENRO Bunawan, Philippine National Police (PNP), and Private Organizations. The celebration which was highlighted with a Tree Planting activity, Blessing of SWIS Recreation Area, MOA and Covenant Signing occurred on June 24, 2016.
The tree planting activity and briefing of different participants commenced the first part of the celebration. After tree planting activity, the participants witnessed the blessing of the SWIS Recreation Area which was conducted by Rev. Fr. Ruby Tagaro.
A program followed with CENRO Ranulfo L. Climaco and PENRO Maritess M. Ocampo delivering their message. On behalf of Regional Director Nonito Tamayo of DENR Caraga Region, DMO IV Victor B. Sabordino, PENRO Maritess M. Ocampo, and CENRO Ranulfo L. Climaco, turned-over the SWIS Recreation Area to the Local Government Unit of Trento – represented by Hon. George G. Diel, SB Member. Hon Diel then turned-over the same to the BLGU Manat represented by Hon. Elbert Concepcion.
After the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement, DMO IV Victor B. Sabordino gave his message for the celebration. He likewise extended his warmest greetings to everyone who participated to the event. In conclusion, the guests and participants affixed their signatures on the Covenant Board signifying support for the maintenance of the Dumagooc Watershed Area.
