The Agricultural Technology Institute – Caraga had formally turned-over the FITS Center to LGU Trento, together with the two (2) units “bangka” and one (1) Pump Boat. From LGU Trento, the same units were turned – over to Tudela Farmers Association on July 13, 2016 in a ceremony held in the Municipal Agricultural Office Building in Trento.
In the first part, Honorable Vice Mayor Victoria L. Plaza, together with Mr. Alberto Salas, Municipal Administrator, Ms. Norma Dela Cruz, Municipal Agriculture Officer, and Dr. Juarlito Garcines, ASSCAT President, joined in cutting the ribbon for the FITS Center.
The second part of the program started with an invocation and the singing of Philippine National Anthem. Ms. Jenebelle Sasi introduced the guests and participants in the activity.Ms. Ginalyn V. Arbuntante, Information Officer II of ATI-XIII, provided an overview to Techno Gabay Program participants. She discussed the history of ATI and disclosed the objectives of FITS Center that would help the farmers in innovating farming technology.Relatively, Mr. Nerio G. Casil, RD, DA-BFAR XIII, deliberated on the fishery program of the Department of Agriculture in which municipality of Trento is one of the recipients.
While Dr. Garcines, in his message, showed gratitude for making ASSCAT as a partner institution in improving the services in the field of agriculture, Mr. Alberto Salas extended his warmest gratitude to ATI for providing financial support to the establishment of the FITS Center in Trento. Hon. Felimon S. Marte, SB Member and Committee Chair on Agriculture, took opportunity in expressing his utmost support to the field of agriculture in Trento.
After the series of messages, the signing of Memorandum of Agreement took place. Vice Mayor Victoria L. Plaza signed on behalf of Mayor Johnmark C. Billanes. Before the program ended, Mr. Diosdado Blanco conveyed his gratitude to ATI. He said that the boats given would not only help them in fishery but also during floods.
